Make the life with urushi
to the Culture
We established the urushi company at Musashigatsuji in Oyama, Kaga in 1780.
Since then, 240-odd years, from the First Sakutaro Notoya to the eighth, we have made and sold urushi and lacquerware, and aimed to spread the urushi culture.

We provide Kaga maki-e and Kanazawa lacquerware: the essence of Kaga-Hyakumanngoku, Wajima lacquerware and Yamanaka lacquerware through the severe Inspection.

KANAZAWA LACQUERWARE
Born in 1630
Very special lacquerware that shows the aristocratic culture and Samurai culture
Kanazawa lacquerware which is famous with Kaga maki-e is told to be born in 1630.
The origin is told that Toshitsune Maeda: the third feudal load of Kaga put effort into arts and crafts and invited Douho Igarashi: representative maki-e master of Momoyama era as a leader of Saikudokoro: tooling office from Kyoto.
With the family of Igarashi had been served to successive loads and succeeded the techniques, many artisans had been invited and handed down the great techniques.
Kanazawa lacquerware has been succeeded the traditional techniques and developed by feudal clan. So, it is the mixture of graceful aristocratic culture and Samurai culture.
MISSION
Not to extinguish the gloss of urushi and make it to the light that lead to the future
The culture of lacquerware like Kanazawa lacquerware has been unnecessary today. But it doesn’t tell that the value has been changed.
We think that our existence will be brighter when people have less time and place to experience urushi and lacquerware.
We, NOSAKU, will go on telling Japanese culture through lacquerware to all people who visit us.
